Our February concert...

Our concert presentation of song from shows and films of the 1930's, 40's and 50's entitled "Simply Song Time" included many songs by Sigmund Romberg, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin and others.

The near sell-out audiences were very appreciative and everyone involved in the concert had a great time.

Flexing our mental muscles..

On Saturday March 17th, A fund-raising Quiz Night was organised by the Committee of the George St. Community Centre. Steve Corcoran organised a team to represent the Society. After a very enjoyable evening (including a fish & chip supper), OUR TEAM WON! Yippee!

The prize was a large tub of chocolates, but since everyone had given up chocolate during Lent, it was decided to either bring the tub along to the rehearsals for everyone else to enjoy, or donate it as a weekly raffle prize.

The beginning of the end...

As a result of genuine concerns being raised about the Society's ability to cast "Yeomen", a Special General meeting was held to discuss the future of the Society. At that meeting a motion to dissolve the society was passed by a majority of the membership. It was agreed that the Society would be officially dissolved on October 31st 2001.

And finally...

A farewell party was held at the George St. Community Center in Bletchley on Saturday October 13th. This was attended by many members past and present and included a G&S sing-along led by Stuart Pemberton at the piano.
